Here it is- the 1st of two giveaways. If you read the previous post you know that you got a head start!I don’t know about you but until 3 yrs ago I had no idea who Hilary Weeks was. I think as I look back I vaguely remember seeing her CD once at Deseret Book and wondering if we may be related. (We are not, at least not within 2 generations) Anyway, 3 yrs ago my mom gave me her “Christmastime” CD and it quickly became my favorite Christmas CD. I loved her voice and the unique arrangements of familiar Christmas songs, also the 3 songs she contributed were beautifully written.
I am fairly picky with my “church” music so I didn’t purchase any of her other CD’s ; worried I wouldn’t love them as much. Then just over 2 yrs ago we built our new home and moved into Tim & Hilary’s ward. Brad and Tim grew up in the same ward so that first week at church we actually sat by them in Sunday school. From day one they were very welcoming and kind, which instantly impressed me. Now at first, I didn’t really put two and two together, even after we met them that first week. Yes I finally figured out she was THE Hilary Weeks of my new favorite Christmas CD! But it wasn’t until a few months later when she released her “Collection” CD that I decided to buy it and see what it was like. After listening through a couple of times I became a fan, the lyrics of each song are amazing and instantly you know she has a strong testimony of her Savior. In the past 2 years we have grown to love and respect Tim & Hilary as well as their cute family. I also had the opportunity to serve with Hilary in the YW this past year and have seen her in several situations- spiritual, fun, stressful, etc... She is as genuine as she seems and is always looking for the good in a person or situation. She is so great at building people up and really wants to see others succeed, she is an amazing teacher and always taught with the spirit. I will always appreciate her encouragement and support while we served together. I am grateful to call her my friend.
I want others who are unfamiliar with her music to have the opportunity to find out more about who she is. Here is a link to hear some clips from Hilary’s new CD. (Look on the right side where it says “a closer look” then click “listen to clips”. ) Her new album is amazing and when you read her expression of gratitude in the front cover you know she has a deep testimony of her Heavenly Father and trusts him completely. Her music truly speaks to your heart.

In her own words… “God will never let us down. It took me fifteen years and seven CDs to learn that. While creating my first six album projects I spent many tear-filled nights wondering if I could write songs that were good enough. Was I good enough? As I began writing for this CD I came to the realization that, though all along I may not have been good enough, God has been. He has made up the difference. Every time. As I approached this seventh project I decided to trust Heavenly Father completely. I was not going to worry about whether or not the songs would come—I just believed they would. And they did. Turns out, this is the most pleasant writing experience I have ever had. The late-night tears were replaced with trust and I felt God's hand in every song. He is there for us. And He will never let us down. I believe that. May these songs carry that witness to your heart.”

Many of my friends have mentioned not knowing who Hilary was. I thought, what better way to help those in blog land get to know her music than a giveaway! So here is the deal, Hilary has generously agreed to giveaway an autographed copy of her new album “If I Only Had Today”. Depending on how many entries I receive we may also have a 2nd prize, her “Christmastime CD”. It is almost Christmas right? And I am feeling generous!
In order to be entered in the drawing, you must make a comment on this post before Sunday morning Nov 16th. I will pick the winner out of a hat and they will be announced Sunday evening. Good luck! Feel free to tell your friends!
Here is another link to her website and blog.. go check it out.

I never win anything. Does that count as a comment???
I've loved Hilary for several years. I especially fell in love with 'Not to far from here' - which gives me strength to do visiting teaching and helping those less fortunate. Angie: have you found a family connection between our family and hers? Great blog by the way!
So does my first comment count? Oh well, here's my second. I love giveaways, especially to find someone I've never heard. I'll go check out the website! : )
I am such a lame blogger it took me ten minutes to figure out how to make a comment, but I'm excited to listen to Hilary's music. Thanks for introducing her to us.
We miss you!

What a huge coincidence!!! I, just like you, had no idea who Hilary Weeks was up until 3 years ago. Of course then I met her brother; talk about a wonderful human being. Kind, gregarious, handsome, spiritual giant, can only begin to describe him. So I thought, if her brother is like that, Hilary must be okay herself. And she is, except slightly less gregarious, and a tad less spiritual, but a smiggin' more humble.

Ok- You got me to comment too. I love her music! I hope all is well.
Hey Angela, I am a hug Hillary Fan. I have been for 10 years or so. I used to work at Deseret Book and once she came in and I had her sign my CD's and I was so STAR struck. But then a couple of years after that all my CD's got stollen out of my car and now I have none of her CD's and that makes me sad. I was completely shocked to hear that she was in our ward when we moved in. It was so fun to get to know her and I am sad that she isn't in our ward anymore. She is amazing. Great Post. Please pick me!!!
This is such a great post, Angela! You say it all so well. Don't enter me in the drawing since I already have all of her CD's (I'm a little nuts that way), but I wanted to tell you that I'm grateful to her for you. If you wouldn't have come to my blog through hers, we wouldn't know each other, and that would be very sad. (Although it wouldn't really be sad, because I wouldn't know that I didn't know you.)...at any rate, love her, love you, love this post. It will be fun to see who wins!
This comment may come twice - sorry. I'm pretty new to the blogging world.
That's so nice of you to want to share Hillary's music with us. I really enjoy her music. I don't have many songs, but I love the ones I do!
Have a great day,
Niki
Hey Angela!!
Thanks for your Hawaii tips! Oh we had such a blast! It was great :) We didn't make it into that restaurant you recommended. There were so many good ones to choose from down there! Our favorite one ended up being Ruths Chris. Not a famous Hawaiian place, but still AMAZING!! :) I should of read back through your Hawaii blog posts before we left! That would of helped a lot! Coming back was real hard :( Especially because of how krappy it is here! Ugh!
Anyway, your blog is cute! Looks like you are having fun!
Though you already have a billion comments, I figured I would add mine to the mix. I've only heard Hilary perform once--it was when Bishop Stirling invited her to come and do something for our ward. She made me jealous--I can do the piano part, but if ever I open my mouth in song at the same time, I clear the room. Incredible talent. Would LOVE to hear more of her music!
Here I am. Hoping for free stuff. Especially if it promises me the spirit with it!
Hey Angela this is your favorite cousin Jenny,
Thanks for the introduction. I have also wondered if there was some family relation there. I would love to have some new inspirational music. I don't have any of her music. I can sing every primary song in my sleep. They are all Nathan wants to listen too. Which is not bad but some new heart felt words would be welcomed. I am excited to go out and purchase one. Thanks again. Jenny
Angela, I love that someone else wants to spread the word about who Hilary is. I will have to tell you more about my first experiance with her music when I come down for the concert next week. That's right, I am going to be able to come. Save me a seat at your table for me and my friend! :)
Jennie is my SIL and also the recognized #1 of Hilary Weeks. LOL Ask Jennie to share that story if she hasn't already. I had the opportunity to meet Hilary a couple of years ago and I was so impressed and delighted by her and her music. I too am glad that you are spreading the word about her. I don't have her new album yet and would so love to win this. Thanks again!
Hopped over from Jen's site and loved the words to her song that she posted! I hope I win!
Angela, You look like sisters, you and Hilary and same with Jennifer. Thanks for being such a great friend. Please enter me in the drawing. This is Jennifer's Mom, Jolene
I saw Hilary on Good Things Utah. Love her stuff. You sure look cute
Great post! Well, of course I have both of these CD's, but I'm entering anyway, and if I win, I'm sending the CD to a friend who has never heard Hilary. We must band together and spread the news! :) xo!
Hi! I came over from Jennifer's site and had to try my luck at one of Hilary's albums. Ironically, I listened to her song, "Christmastime" this morning as I made bread. It's the only Christmas song that I have from her. It is off of the shadowmountain Christmas CD. I originally bought the album to hear my cousin Cherie Call's songs. When I heard Hilary's song, the first one on the album, I fell in love. Her music is inspiring, motivating, and enlightening. I can't help but smile when I listen to her. I wish she came to Idaho Falls more often. :)
I had the opportunity to her Hilary speak/sing at the Just for Women seminar! So awesome!! I bought her last cd for my mom for her birthday!! I hope I win!!!!

(Sara Smart is friends with Jennifer) ; )
It is fun to read your blog. I love the picture of you and Jennifer. I love Hillary Weeks! I have a few of her CD's. Can I still win even though I live out of state? It's fun to read your blog and keep up with you.
Take care,
Tamara
So all of the Elders on my mission thought that Hillary was a 'BABE', plus she has great music! What more could a missionary want!?
Great post. Thank you for being so good to me all the time...your post actually made me choke up. You are too good to me.
Hil.
