Father of the Bride....

Ok... did anyone else just LOVE this movie when they were younger? The first time I saw it, I remember thinking.. I hope I meet a guy like Brian MacKenzie he is soooo cute! I was a senior in high school when this movie came out and well.. it took me 12 more years to find my "Brian MacKenzie" but it was well worth the wait!

So, last Thursday while I was walking around the Gateway mall I saw and said "hi" to George Newbern (Brian MacKenzie, pictured below). Very uneventful but brought back some great memories of watching this movie over an over during my early twenties. BTW: He still looks pretty good! Apparently he is filming a new movie here in Utah.
I just thought I would share this random tidbit of info as a blog entry this week. I do have most of the pictures uploaded from Day 2 of our Maui trip but haven't had a chance to get them posted. Hopefully by Thursday.
As cheesy as this is...does anyone else have a star sighting to share?

Well, THAT'S cool! I loved this movie too. I still do. It came out the year that I got married the first time, and my father was so emotional about it! He sent me a copy of it for my first Christmas away from home and I still tear up when I see it. Now my daughter loves it too. And someday I'll be balling because it'll be HER leaving ME!

I totally wish I had a star-sighting to share! I'm impressed that you walked up to say hi to him...I probably would have chickened out and then regretted it afterwards. :)

Ok. you are officially famous. That is so funny that you liked him. He seemed too old back then. I acctually saw Meg Ryan at Sea World a few years ago.

Hi Angela. I'm in town, but don't have your number. I leave Sunday. Maybe you could e-mail me or call me at my mom's house. Would love to see you.

This is definitly one of my favorite movies of all time! I love it still. I am have nothing exciting to share when it comes to meeting famous people, I think the most famous person I have met was Gordon on Sesame Street when I was like five, pretty lame.....
